Volleyball 2020 in Tokyo: Japan vs Kenya

Tokyo, Japan – The Malkia Strikers lost to the Japan women’s volleyball team on Sunday. They played at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo.

After coming so close to the medal round, Japan had a good run at Nations League group stages but lost their final two matches.

They played against Turkey in “third placer match” and were soundly defeated 3-0. It comes as a tremendous shock to see it end so soon after such an emotional win at the semi-final stage over Brazil 2-0, where they conceded just 6 times in 15 matches throughout this phase of competition.

There is a difference between the Kenyan team that plays in Africa and the one that plays outside of Africa. In Africa, Kenya is one of the strongest teams, but at the World Cup, they only won because they beat Cameroon 3-0. They lost 0-3 to everyone else.

What were the predictions

The Japanese look like they will win at their home tournament. We should not play the Japanese with a handicap of -27.5 points. The Kenyans are playing really well and can take 48 points in three games. That will be enough to keep the plus side (-27.5).

We predict that Kenya gets an Asian handicap of 27.5 points for their game and we would bet on it with Winline for 1:1 (odds: 1.76)

Given our first bet, where we expect some resistance from the Kenyans, it is wise to consider the total over. Provided they hold a plus handicap, bookmakers put the total on more. We think perhaps that Japanese are slightly underrated. This is largely due to the fact that they are playing at their home Olympics.

The outcome of the match

The African volleyball team started the match well. They were battling with the country that is ranked fifth in the world. But they could not keep up their momentum and lost two sets by 25-15 and 25-11.

However, they rallied and managed to keep the score close when their opponents started pulling away. The Japanese team pushed back, using their experience to pull ahead of the Malkia Strikers for a victory.
